Obituary: Elizabeth Anne “Betty” (Murphy) Hartnett, 83, of Huntington

Elizabeth Anne “Betty” (Murphy) Hartnett, 83, of Huntington, worked at Shelton High School in the library and Masuk High School, Monroe, died Aug. 28, at St. Joseph’s Center in Trumbull.

Predeceased by husband, John Francis Hartnett, parents, John Amos Murphy and Mary Clark Murphy.

Born in Newton, Mass.; worked for U.S. Army as a teacher in schools at German and French military bases.

Survived by three daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandsons, three brothers, many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visiting hours: Friday, Sept. 4, 5-7 p.m., James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Avenue, Shelton. Services: Saturday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m., St. Lawrence Church, Shelton.

Memorial contributions: The Alzheimer’s Association, or the North American Sea Glass Association (NASGA) through the funeral home.
