First annual FADE 5k fund-raiser helps raise drug prevention awareness

FADE, Fighting Against Drugs Everywhere will hold its first annual fund-raiser 5k Walk/Run for Drug Awareness on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Shelton Riverwalk, 100 Canal Street.

Tickets are available for $25 in advance at or $30 cash or check the day of the event.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Greater Valley Substance Abuse Council. VSAAC, a program of BHcare, is a public/private partnership comprised of community leaders and citizens who develop and carry out strategies to reduce alcohol, tobacco, drug use, suicide, risky behaviors, and promote good mental health among youth and, over time, among adults through community education, community mobilization, public awareness, and advocacy in the Lower Naugatuck Valley, Greater New Haven and surrounding communities.
