On Sept. 20, the first Annual CT Ride for Hope will start at 11 a.m. from Veterans Memorial Park. The ride will go up Route 34 to Monroe and take a right hand turn up to Southbury and return down Route 34 to Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton. There will be five stops along the way for each rider to pick up a poker card. The best hand at the finish line wins the grand prize.
There will be music, a car show, a bike show and a comedy show. Trophies will be awarded for best bike and more.
There will be a barbecue along with a 50/50 raffle that day.
Motorcycle riders pay $25 and the passenger pays $5. Register at ctrideforhope.org or call 203-513-8424 for more information.
Proceeds support MovingwithHope, a Shelton-based 501c3 non-profit that provides activity based restorative therapy grants, Locomotor training and adaptive equipment for young survivors of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and long term illnesses. This event is hoping to raise enough net proceeds to buy heavy-duty transfer equipment for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries.
