Center Stage Theatre will host a cabaret event this weekend, entitled “Just Judy”, featuring Mia Scarpa. Ms. Scarpa will sing songs of the legendary Judy Garland in a cabaret atmosphere at Center Stage. There will be two shows at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18th and Saturday, September 19th. Patrons are invited to bring  their own refreshments.

This past summer, Scarpa played the title role in “Hello Dolly” to rave reviews at the Muhlenberg Summer Theatre in Allentown, Pennsylvania. At Center Stage, she has played Jo in “Little Women”, Tracy Lord in “High Society”, Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls”, and Aldonza in “Man of La Mancha”.

Scarpa is currently the director of theatre education at Center Stage and she is also an advisor to the Shelton High School Drama.

Center Stage Theatre is a non-profit organization, founded in 2005 by directors Gary and Francesca Scarpa. The theatre presents a full season of five productions as well as a variety of musical cabaret events. Center Stage’s purpose is to enhance the cultural environment within its community, to present high quality theatrical productions at affordable prices, to encourage growth and education through the performing arts, and to provide a means for interested adults, teens and children to experience and participate in various aspects of live theater.

Tickets for “Just Judy” are $15 and can be reserved by calling the Center Stage box office at 203-225-6079.
