Letter: Thanks for Alex’s Lemonade support

To the Editor:

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorOn behalf of Beardsley’s Cider Mill, we would like to thank everyone who stopped by the Cider Mill on September 12 and 13th to make a donation to our 8th annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation grew out of the front yard lemonade stand started by Alexandria “Alex” Scott — a childhood cancer patient. In 2000, at the age of 4 years, Alex opened her first annual stand with the hope of raising money for pediatric cancer patients. Alex passed away in 2004, but her legacy continues. People from all walks of life have joined to help fight childhood cancer – one cup-at-a-time by setting up their very own Alex’s Lemonade Stands.

The Beardsley’s Cider Mill Lemonade Stand contributions along with the donations amounted to over $3,000 to go directly towards preventing childhood cancer.

Many thanks to Keith and Barb Shuster for coordinating and manning the stand with the help of the following students:

Kathryn Arena, Colin and Luke English, Olivia Gill, Nick Heiden, Tim Higgins, Sydney and Maddy Leifer, Emily Manzo, Kaleigh and Sarah Panek, Jeff Santos, Devan Wildman, Kristen Willey, Ally Yakiwicz and Jaylee Zwaan.

Thank you again for your generous support.

Dan and Dave Beardsley
