Win Oppel is running for reelection to the Board of Education. He has been in office for 10 years and has served three of those years as Board Chairman. He is married to his wife Patty, they have 6 children, and 11 grandchildren.
Win is a long time Shelton resident, living in the city for 58 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Sacred Heart University.
Moving forward, Win would like to assure the community receives quality educational opportunities for Shelton students within responsible and affordable funding, an increase in a technology based school district, and continuing to progress in the city’s educational achievements.
Win has been a part of Area Congregations Together, Inc, the Spooner House (former Chairman); The Workplace (former Chairman), Thor Diesel Motor Coach Club (current Parliamentarian), Huntington Congregational Church (former Moderator). Past: Connecticut Community Colleges (former trustee), Connecticut Workforce Development Board (former member), Huntington Fire Company #3 (former member), Echo Hose Ambulance Corps (former member)
