The Shelton High School girls swim team finished seventh with 465 points at the Southern Connecticut Conference championship meet on Wednesday night at Southern Connecticut State University.
It was Shelton’s best finish since 2010. Prior to the meet the team was awarded their SCC Division 2 regular season championship and head coach Tom Jurzynski was named Division II coach of the year.
Top performances were by freshman Louise Kim who finished fourth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100 freestyle. Senior Tiffany Wronski finished ninth in the 100 Butterfly and freshman Alyssa Bretan finished 10th in the 200 freestyle.
The 200 freestyle relay of Louise Kim, Emma Parkes, Caitlin McGuire, and Alyssa Bretan finished third with a school record-setting time of 1:44.36. The same foursome finished seveth in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:53.66. The 200 medley relay of Tiffany Wronski, Pam Zuckerman, Katie Barber, and Marcella Hundt finished 10th in a time of 2:06.37
