A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train at the Stratford Metro-North station on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The person was hit at about 8:27 a.m. Wednesday by an Amtrak train heading from Washington D.C. to Boston, said Aaron Donovan, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Donovan said the train was traveling on Track 2, one of the middle tracks that is not near the platform. The train was due in Boston at 11:05 a.m.
Donovan said he did not know the gender or age of the person hit or how the person got on to the track. MTA Police officers on scene declined comment.
Metro-North service was suspended between 8:59 a.m and 9:20 a.m. Amtrak service is still being affected.
