Shelton Fire log Nov. 23-29

On 11/23/15 at 11:31 am the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #141 Isinglass Road of a person fell from an attic space and was stuck behind a wall. Firefighters using hand tools freed the person in minutes. One engine, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On 11/23/15 at 1:41 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. 31 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Pitney Bowes at #27 Waterview Drive. There was no fire. no further information was reported. One engine responded.

 

On 11/24/15 at 7:26 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a report of a transformer on fire on top of a utility pole in the rear of the Sassafras Restaurant #13 Huntington Plaza. Firefighters stood by until a United Illuminating repair crew arrived. One engine responded.

 

On 11/24/15 at 9:57 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #97 Walnut Tree Hill Road. There was no fire. The cause of the alarm was not determined. One engine responded.

 

On 11/24/15 at 10:44 am the Huntington Fire Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Marriott Residence Inn at #1001 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. The alarm was accidentally activated by an employee. One engine responded.

 

On 11/24/15 at 9:32 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Constitution Boulevard South near the route exit 13 ramp. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On 11/24/15 at 11:26 pm the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to assist police with gaining entry to the home at #315 Aspetuck trail. One rescue responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 11:35 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the corner of Toas Street and Wells Avenue for a brush fire. One engine responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 12:31 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Howe Avenue and Wooster Street. One rescue truck responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 12:41 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Coram Avenue and White Street. One rescue truck responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 5:20 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #324 East Village Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 5:45 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 were dispatched to a mutual aid to  the Derby Fire Department at at house fire at #9 Hawkins Street. The fire was extinguished by Derby in minutes and Shelton fire units were cancelled while enroute. One rescue truck responded.

 

On 11/25/15 at 6:27 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #311 Meadowridge Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One  engine responded.

 

On 11/26/15 at 10:41 am the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #375 Long Hill Avenue. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On 11/26/15 at 1:52 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #126 Oak Avenue to assist EMS personnel with removing a patient from the residence. One utility truck responded.

 

On 11/27/15 at 2:03 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor veichle accident at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Soundview Avenue. One engine responded.

 

On 11/27/15 at 5:03 pm the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #23 Andrew Drive. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.

 

On 11/28/15 at 01:38 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a large brush fire on Leavenworth Road near Beardsley Road. Two engines responded.

 

On 11/29/15 at 05:08 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to a mutual aid call to Monroe Fire Department for assistance at a structure fire. One tanker truck and one ladder truck responded to the scene on the fire and one engine stood by at the Monroe station #1 firehouse.

 

On 11/29/15 at 8:32 am the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of smoke in the area of #23 Great Oak Road. A search of the area found the smoke was from a fireplace being used in the area.
