Wesley Village resident celebrates her 100th birthday

‘I’m not 100, I’m 50 x 2”

Wesley Village’s first resident to admitted into their Lifestyle Transitions wing, Christina Sudol, celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, Dec. 4.

Sudol’s smile lit up the room at Wesley Village, a senior care community in Shelton made up of 4 communities, as staff and residents gathered and sang happy birthday to her before cutting her cake.

It was a special celebration for a special Jersey native, according to Lifestyle Transitions Lisa Kelleher who played a big part in the birthday celebration.

“It’s her day,” said Kelleher. “Each resident has their own ipod loaded with their favorite music so today we will be listening to all of Christina’s favorites.”

Big band classical music with some Frank Sinatra is what could be heard underneath the singing of happy birthday for Sudol’s birthday. She enjoyed an array of snacks and refreshments shortly before beginning to read through the 100 birthday cards that were handmade and sent to her by the third graders at Park City Magnet School in Bridgeport.
