Student club participants at ECSU

Many Eastern Connecticut State University students participate in Eastern’s clubs during the academic year.

 

Justin Ahern ’17 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Senior Class Committee at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Ahern’s major is Business Administration.

 

Katelin Sala ’18 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Sala’s major is Business Administration.

 

Anthony Testi ’16 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Rugby Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Testi’s major is Business Administration.

 

Freskid Dinaj ’19 of Shelton, CT, participated in the MALES Organization at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Dinaj’s major is Economics.

 

Caitlynn Ahern ’16 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Pride Alliance Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Ahern’s major is English.

 

Emily Menendez ’18 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Habitat for Humanity Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Menendez’s major is Mathematics.

 

Leigh Savoie ’16 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Dance Team at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Savoie’s major is Mathematics.

Jessica DeFelice ’16 of Shelton, CT, participated in the National Organization for Women (NOW) Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. DeFelice’s major is Political Science and Economics.

 

Kaylee Defelice ’19 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Education Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Defelice’s major is Pre-Early Childhood Education and Psychology.

 

Brianna Lopez ’17 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Repertory Dance Troupe (RDT) at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Lopez’s major is Pre-Early Childhood Education and Psychology.

 

Katherine O’Rourke ’19 of Huntington, CT, participated in the Education Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. O’Rourke’s major is Pre-Secondary Education Certification and Mathematics.

 

Alyssa Carter ’18 of Shelton, CT, participated in the Knit Wits at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2015 semester. Carter’s major is Psychology.

Eastern students who participate in clubs/organizations excel in the classroom and do better academically than students who do not participate. Students participating in clubs had an average GPA of 3.10, much higher than the 2.94 average for students who do not participate in any of the clubs/organizations.

Clubs/organizations planned and implemented numerous events for the fall 2015 semester. These programs have a direct impact on the daily life of all students on Eastern’s campus. The programs range from social to educational, physical to spiritual and civic engagement programs, many of which also benefit the local community.
