Police say man, vehicle in photo suspected in burglaries around area

Shelton police have released a photo of a man who broke into a convenience store early Saturday, Jan. 9.

Surveillance cameras captured images of a burglary at The Mont’s Mart, 198 Leavenworth Road in Shelton, around 12:30 a.m. Jan. 9.

Footage shows the suspects entering the lot in an older model light blue station wagon. The passenger got out of the vehicle and smashed the front glass door with a tire iron, then entered the store, stealing cigarettes and other items.

Police said the vehicle described and the suspect pictured are believed to be responsible for recent burglaries not only in that city, but surrounding towns as well.

Shelton police ask anyone who recognizes the man in the photo or who has any information pertaining to the burglaries to call them at 203-924-1544. All call will be kept confidential.
