Shelton Fire Department Incidences Responses

On Jan.11 at 4:52 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Shelton Avenue at Soundview Avenue. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 11 at 5:27 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on the exit 13 south bound exit ramp. Two engines and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.12 at 8:23 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #20 Brant Point. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm.  Two engines and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.12 at 3:37 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1, Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded, with police and EMS,  to the area of the Nells Rock Road reservoir for a report of a dog possibly trapped in a cave. Upon arrival firefighters found the dog stuck under a rock which was removed by firefighters uninjured. Two rescue trucks and one utility truck and all terrain vehicles responded.

 

On Jan. 12 at 9:36 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. 31 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an odor of natural gas in a home at #24 Bridgeport Avenue. No further information was reported. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 13 at 11:21 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L co. #1 responded to #19 Heather Ridge for an automatic fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. dust from construction caused the alarm. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.13 at 3:17 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to the area of #104 Armstrong Road for a power line down in the roadway. Upon arrival firefighters found two power lines down which caused a small brush fire. Fire crews waited until power was cut off by UI crews before extinguishing the fire. Power in the area remained out for a length of time. Two engines and one utility truck responded.

 

On Jan.13 at 3:25 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from Kinder Care Day Care Center at #1 Trap Falls Road. There was no fire. The alarm was caused by a power outage. One engine, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 13 at 5:12 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 northbound between exits 12 and 13. One engine and two rescue trucks responded.

 

On Jan.13 at 5:36 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 southbound between exits 11 and 10. While responding fire units were cancelled because the accident was in Trumbull and Trumbull fire was already on the scene. Two rescue trucks responded.

 

On Jan. 13 at 6:10 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to route 8 southbound near exit 12 for motor vehicle accident. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 13 at 6:25 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to route 8 southbound near exit 11 for motor vehicle accident. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 14 at 5:49 am the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #128 Lane Street for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. The cause of the alarm was a power outage in the area. One rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.14 at 6:02 am the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from #449 Fisher Court located in the Aspetuck Condominiums off Shelton Avenue. There was no fire. A power outage in the area caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 14 at 8:41 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a report of an odor of natural gas at #39 Rivendell Drive. Firefighters found no odor during their investigation. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.14 at 1:22 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of #329  Bridgeport Avenue.  Firefighters assisted police and ems personnel at the scene which involved two cars and a truck. Two engines and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.14 at 3:59 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south bound just before exit 13. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.14 at 6:02 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Frontier Communication Building at #33 Ripton Road. There was no fire. The cause of the alarm was not reported. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.14 at 6:35 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #113 Aspetuck Trail for an activated carbon monoxide detector sounding. There was no gas levels found in the home by firefighters. It was determined that the detector was faulty. One engine responded.

On Jan.15 at 11:32 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #71 Lobsterback Road. There was no fire. the alarm was accidentally transmitted by technicians working on the alarm system. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 12:16 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a mutual aid to the Town of Trumbull Fire Department.  Firefighters stood by and covered Trumbull at the Nichols Station while Trumbull fought a house fire. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 12:16 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a mutual aid to the Town Of Monroe Fire Department. Firefighters stood by and covered Monroe FD at their station on route 110 while Monroe assisted Trumbull at a house fire. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 1:43 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Cartier North America Company at #3 Enterprise Drive. There was no fire. A malfunction in the alarm system was the cause. Two engines, one ladder truck and one tower truck responded.

 

On Jan. 15 at 4:04 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to the Heather Ridge Condominiums off Trap Falls Road to assist police gain access to an apartment. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 5:20 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a report of an odor of natural gas in the Stop & Shop Supermarket at #898 Bridgeport Avenue. Firefighters and Ever Source Gas Company reps found a gas leak in a roof top heating unit as the cause. One engine, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 5:32 pm the Huntington Co. #3, the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1  responded to the area of #80 Mohegan Road for a motor vehicle accident. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.15 at 6:05 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to stand by at their firehouse to cover while other companies were on other calls.

 

On Jan.16 at 10:37 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Helen Devaux Housing Complex at #91 Howe Avenue. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.16 at 8:55 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #77 Wesley Drive for an activated carbon monoxide detector sounding. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.17 at 5:38 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Hewitt Memorial Hospital at #45 Maltby Street. There was no fire. The cause of the alarm was not reported. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.17 at 10:55 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Saint Joseph’s Rectory at #50 Fairmont Place. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.17 at 4:26 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex at #91 Howe Avenue. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.17 at 7:12 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of #539 Long Hill Avenue. It was determined by police that no accident had occurred and all fire units were cancelled.

 

On Jan.18 at 10:30 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #38 Greystone Condominiums. There was no fire. the alarm was transmitted accidentally while a smoke detector was being replaced. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.18 at 5:07 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #34 Lucille Drive to assist with a lock out of the residence. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.18 at 10:37 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south bound on the exit 14 exit ramp. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.19 at 3:25 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #118 Dickenson Drive. No further information was reported. One engine responded.
