Shelton Fire Department Incident Responses

On Jan. 18 at 10:30 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #38 Greystone Condominiums. There was no fire. the alarm was transmitted accidentally while a smoke detector was being replaced. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 18 at 5:07 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #34 Lucille Drive to assist with a lock out of the residence. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 18 at 10:37 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south bound on the exit 14 exit ramp. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.19 at 3:25 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #118 Dickenson Drive. No further information was reported. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 19 at 8:37 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of an odor of gas in an apartment at the Avalon Shelton II at #185 Canal Street. The  cause of the odor was not reported. One rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 19 at 11:30 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from unit #37 at the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex at #91 Howe Avenue. Firefighters found smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 19 at 2:10 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #220 Buddington Road. Upon arrival firefighters found a smoke condition caused by a wood stove insert installed improperly. Two engines, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 19 at 7:26 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a report of smoke in a house and a water leak at #42 Fairfield Avenue. Firefighters found both the smoke and water leak caused by a malfunction with a boiler in the basement. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 20 at 11:08 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of smoke in the building at Supplement City #890 Bridgeport Avenue. An investigation by firefighters found a malfunction in a roof top heating unit caused the smoke. Two engines, two rescue trucks and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan.20 at 8:35 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south bound between exits 13 and 12. Upon arrival firefighters found no accident but a disabled motor vehicle. Two engines  and one rescue truck  responded.

 

On Jan. 20 at 10:21 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to the area of #145 Canal Street for a car leaking gasoline. Two engines responded.

 

On Jan. 21 at 6:57 am the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #55 Soundridge Drive. There was no fire. One engine responded.

 

On Jan.21 at 9:23 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1,  Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Shelton Lakes Rehab Center at #5 Lake Road. There was no fire. A leak in the fire sprinkler system caused the alarm. Two engines responded.

 

On Jan. 22 at 11:52 am the Huntington Co. #3, the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on route 8 north bound at exit 11. Upon arrival firefighters found no fire but a hydraulic fluid leak from a garbage truck. Two engines and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 22 at 4:45 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an odor of propane gas in the home at #1 Elderberry Lane. Firefighters tested the home but found no levels of the gas present. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 22 at 5:59 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #187 Howe Avenue for a water leak in the building. Firefighters found a pipe leaking in an apartment in the multi family building caused the problem. One rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 23 at 00:27 the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a chimney fire at #43 Permain Road. Firefighters found and extinguished a small fire in the chimney. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Jan. 23 at 7:44 am the echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Hewitt Hospital #45 Maltby Street. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 23 at 10:15 am the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to #750 Bridgeport Avenue for a public service call.

 

On Jan.23 at 12:36 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #8 Horsestable Circle to assist EMS with removing a patient. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan. 23 at 1:32 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #38 Deer Run Lane for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. One rescue truck responded.

 

On Jan.23 at 6:05 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a carbon monoxide detector sounding at #25 Dome Drive. A closed fireplace flue caused the alarm. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 23 at 9:47 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to assist EMS at #11 Pueblo Trail. One engine responded.

 

On Jan. 25 at 5:45 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #22 Bear Path Drive for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. One engine and one rescue truck responded.
