TONIGHT–Board of Ed to discuss and possibly take action on Superintendent’s recommended budget

TONIGHT– The Board of Education will meet again Wednesday Feb. 3 at 6 p.m in the Long Hill School conference room to discuss and possibly decide on the Superintendent’s recommended 2015-2016 budget.

Before leaving the most recent board meeting, the board members remained split on the idea of presenting a budget that included “enhancements”, which would mean asking for more money to spend on assistant principals, counselors, and “media specialists.”

Superintendent Clouet said in the board’s last meeting his goal is to present a budget to the mayor under a 3% increase, but that remains to be seen.

More updates to come following tonight’s meeting.
