Obituary: Olga Marazzi Cappetta, 95, longtime Ansonia resident

Olga Marazzi Cappetta, 95, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2016, at Bishop Wicke H.C. in Shelton with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Cappetta.

Mrs. Cappetta was born in Ansonia on June 6, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Montovani Marazzi.

She was employed by many places in her lifetime, including, Chromium Process in Shelton, the former Glicks Deli in Ansonia and the former Vonetes in Ansonia.

Olga enjoyed crafting, feeding the birds and was a member of the Ansonia Senior Center, where she played bingo every Wednesday.

She is survived by her son, Joseph J. Cappetta and his wife, Janice of Ansonia, a daughter, Cynthia C. Nicoletti and her husband, William, Jr. of Derby, a sister, Laura DeFelice of Derby, cherished grandchildren, Joyce Godfrey (Jim) of Stratford, Denise Waldron (Ray) of Seymour, William Nicoletti III (Megan) of Orange, Ashely Harte (Brian) of Beacon Falls, Sharon Cappetta and her partner, (Joseph Forlano III) of Ansonia and Dana Sharkey (Bryan) of Prospect, nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Josephine Savoy, a grandson, William Merwin, brothers, Leonard, Reno and Al Marazzi and her sisters, Frances Presutto, Beatrice Cadoret and Neda Margiano.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 2-5 p.m., in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will take place at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Bridgeport Hospital and EVERYONE at Bishop Wicke H.C. for their wonderful care given to Olga, especially Dr. John Farens, who treated her for many years.
