Shelton School district 2 hour delay

Monday’s snow is still affecting school schedules Tuesday, and more snow could fall along the immediate coastline overnight and into Wednesday morning.

Schools around the area are opening late Tuesday.

Then a winter weather advisory for coastal Connecticut goes into effect at 6 p.m. Tuesday, lasting until noon Wednesday. The National Weather Service is predicting another 2 to 4 inches of snow will fall Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, making roads slippery and reducing visibilities. Temperatures are predicted to be in the 20s.

Coastal towns are also under coastal flood advisories during high tide, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday. Tides are expected to be two or more feet above normal, creating a risk for minor coastal flooding.
