Obituary: Eddy Tyler Conklin, 17, of Shelton

Eddy Tyler Conklin, 17, of Shelton, died on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family.

Eddy was born in New Haven on June 6, 1998, son of Edmund M. and Barbara (Wiedmeyer) Conklin, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.

He was a member of Shelton High School class of 2016. He was a varsity basketball player and also played JV baseball.

Eddy enjoyed playing “Call of Duty,” was a daredevil, had a great sense of humor, and also loved fishing and all outdoor activities.

He will be missed by his many friends who loved him very much.

He is the loving brother of Ashley Conklin, and the cherished grandson of Edmund J. Conklin. He also leaves his Great Aunt Dottie, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may greet his family on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Saturday friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m., at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton. Burial will be private in Lawn Cemetery in the spring.

At the request of his family, contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to The Eddy  Conklin Scholarship Fund to benefit students at Shelton High School, care of 120 Meadow Street Shelton, CT 06484, or through the funeral home.
