Shelton Fire Incident Responses

On Feb. 22 at 6:35 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #180 Ripton Road. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 22 at 9:33 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1, Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a structure fire at #405 Long Hill Avenue after a security guard at the nearby Sikorsky Aircraft Plant saw a fire in the rear of the house.

 

On Feb. 24 at 1:36 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hill Co. #5 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Shelton Historical Society at #70 Ripton Road. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 24 at 9:46 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #43 Great Oak Road for an odor of something burning in the home. Firefighters found an electrical problem caused the odor. Two engines responded.

 

On Feb. 24 at Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to #702 River Road for a tree on power lines. One ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 24 at 11:24 pm the        Huntington Co. #3 responded to a report of a power line down in the area of #140 Walnut Tree Hill Road. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 24 at 11:56 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a report of a power line down in the area of #140 Walnut Tree Hill Road. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 00:18 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to #30 Cathy Drive for an electrical problem in the house. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 9:07 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to the area of #49 Quaker Ridge Road for a wire down across the road. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 9:12 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the area of Wakelee Avenue and River Road  for a wire down across the road. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 11:16 am the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #20 Rugby Road for gasoline leaking from a vehicle. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 2:24 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the area of #83 Williams Street for a wire down across the road. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 25 at 7:47 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #61 Soundview Avenue to assist EMS with removing a patient from the home. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 26 at 08:36 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #61 Soundview Avenue to assist EMS with removing a patient from the home. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 26 at 5:28 pm the Echo hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding from the Spooner House at #30 Todd Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.  Two engines and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 26 at 8:58 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex at #91 Howe Avenue. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 27 at 00:42 am the echo Hose H & L Co. #1, Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Shelton Lakes Health Care Center at #5 Lake Road for an odor of burning in the facility. Firefighters found a sparking electrical outlet caused by a short circuit in a room heating unit. Two engines, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

 

On Feb. 27 at 8:50 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to 32 Ivy Brook Road for a person stuck in an elevator. The person was out of the elevator safely by the arrival of firefighters. One engine responded.

 

On Feb. 27 at 4:53 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue near Long Hill Cross Road. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

 

On Feb. 27 at 4:53 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to assist police at an investigation of a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue near Long Hill Cross Road. One tower truck responded.

 

On Feb. 28 at 5:16 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Princess Wenonah Drive to rescue a cat stuck in a catch basin. One utility truck responded.
