‘Mindful Eating’ to change your life

This week Denise welcomes guest Karen Mayo, the author of Amazon best seller, Mindful Eating. She has been seen on Dr. Oz and spoken in Tedx Talks, while guiding numerous people to losing inches, pounds and medications through better eating habits.

Karen’s nephew came to live with her somewhat unexpectedly. She intuitively changed what was in her nephew’s lunch box and what was on his dinner plate, only to receive a call from his school administrators. She thought she might be in trouble, yet she was met with one happy surprise, good news that he was excelling in school. That launched her interest in sharing good health and mindful eating with others. 

With a diverse career path working as a sous chef, model, actress, real estate agent, mortgage professional, motivational speaker, executive recruiter and most recently bee-keeper, Karen has always kept her family roots to a healthy way of eating. Her passion is sharing with others how making small changes in eating healthier can make a big difference in healing their bodies and living a healthier lifestyle.

Mayo is a board certified Integrative Nutrition health and lifestyle coach, licensed personal trainer, and a member of American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She speaks at Columbia University to nurses about nutrition and health care. As a health eating specialist, Karen partners with her local Whole Foods to lead lunch and learn workshops as well as corporate wellness workshops throughout the US.
