On Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m., the Trumbull Library will host a musical performance by Nate Barnes and Marcus Allen. The performance is part of the Trumbull Library’s One Book, One Town program inspired by the book selection All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. The duo play a blend of jazz and rhythm and blues. Barnes is a percussionist and Allen plays keyboards. They will be joined by one or two other musicians.
Barnes is a music industry professional who is well known for his skills as a musician, professional producer and music programmer. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and has a degree in Professional Music and Music Management. He has played with many Grammy Award winning artists such as Andre Crouch, Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Winans. He was a subject in the book Teens with Physical Disabilities written by Glen Cheney. While attending Harding High, he studied summers at the Boston Conservatory gifted program on a full scholarship.
