Shelton High junior swimmer Hunter Wronski, coached by SHS head coach Tom Jurzynski, was honored as a 2016 CIAC All-State swimmer at a banquet on March 22 at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville.
Wronski was also a three-time medalist at the SCC Southern Connecticut Conference championship on March.
He swam the 100 breaststroke in a school record of 1:01.20, 500 freestyle in time of 4:54.75, and as part of the 400 free relay team that clocked a school record of 3:30.27, along with Reid Chavez, Sebastian Musante and Marc Maleri. The 200 individual medley relay team of Maleri, Wronski, Chavez and Jack Marciano notched a time of 1:45.56.
On March 16 at the CIAC Class L finals, Wronski once again was a three-time medalist in the 100 breaststroke (school-record 59.97), 100 freestyle (school-record 49.30) and the 400 freestyle relay team (school-record of 3:27.65 along with Chavez, Musante and Maleri) and was part of the record-breaking 200 IM relay team, along with Maleri, Marciano and Chavez, that finished in 1:44.02.
Wronski advanced and represented Shelton at the State Open championship in two individual events at Yale University in New Haven on March 19.
