CT Pulse, a show on politics, what’s trending in the Constitution state and more, airs Wednesdays at 12:30. Watch it on demand later, or see this week’s show below:
CT Pulse is hosted by Kate Czaplinski and Josh Fisher, both former Connecticut newspaper editors. Josh is HAN’s executive producer and Kate is news director.
This week, Josh and Kate talks presidential politics. Recently, we got to see something here in Connecticut that is rare: A Republican candidate for President stopped in Fairfield County to talk to voters — not rich political donors.
We are less than two weeks from the Connecticut presidential primaries — for both the Republicans and Democrats. And since Ohio Gov. John Kasich stopped here on Friday, we’re going to focus today on the GOP race. Next week we’ll look more at the Democratic race, which is more settled than the Republicans. In our clips from the visit Kasich talks Common Core, media, a contested convention and more.
We also take a look at what some of previous guests, all Connecticut legislators, had to say about the presidential race.
We also hear what Connecticut Democrats thought about the Kasich visit.
Finally, Cartoonist Doug Smith helps us wrap things up with a look at his editorial cartoons this week.
