Crash on Route 8 in Trumbull

Some reports that accident was fatal

A crash on Route 8 south near Exit 7  in Trumbull is causing massive traffic delays Saturday, April 30.

There are reports that the crash has claimed at least one life.

A Trumbull fire official said there was a three-car crash with serious injuries, and that one person was taken to the hospital. Trumbull firefighters were on scene to protect the scene from traffic and clean spilled fluids.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. A witness on Route 8 shortly after 10 o’clock reported traffic at a complete stop, and Trumbull police and fire units at the scene with two cars off the road in the grass.

Traffic remained backed up on Route 8 and the Merritt Parkway more than 90 minutes after the crash.
