Obituary: James P. O’Shea, 77, of Shelton

James P. O’Shea, 77, of Shelton, roofer for Main Roofing, Quality Roofing, Premier Roofing, and Benco Roofing, husband of Frances (Riley) O’Shea, died May 3, at Griffin Hospital in Derby.

Born in New York City on Aug. 23, 1938, son of the late Walter and Mary (Murphy) O’Shea; U.S. Army first lieutenant, Vietnam War.

Also survived by children, Lisa (O’Shea) Mortensen, Colleen O’Shea-Burout, and Michael O’Shea, three sisters, Patricia Lau, Mary Pierce, and Evelyn Erdmann, a brother, Walter O’Shea, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, lifelong friend Stan Tice, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours: Thursday, May 12, 4-7 p.m., Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Services: Friday, 10 a.m., funeral home, 10:30 a.m., St. Joseph’s Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
