The Cheshire High baseball team stayed red-hot on Monday night, blanking host Shelton High, 6-0, in an SCC Housatonic Division matchup.
It was the sixth victory in a row for the Rams, who improved to 10-4. Shelton dropped to 6-5.
Gary Costello (3-2) went six innings for Cheshire, allowing just two hits — first-inning singles to Matt Hunyadi and Ryan Murphy. The junior right-hander struck out six.
Altren Kabashi powered the Ram offense with three hits. Cheshire pinned one run of Shelton starter Trey McLoughlin (2-2) in the first and three more on him in the second.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Gaels, who return to action on Wednesday with a road game at Rochford Field against Hamden (12-2).
