Andrew Dzwonchyk, 93, of Shelton, worked as a manager for the former Rapp’s Paradise Inn of Ansonia for 25 years, husband of the late Irene Fogarty Dzwonchyk, died May 8, at his daughter’s home.
Born in Derby, Oct. 1, 1923, son of the late Nikita and Helen Fifer Dzwonchyk; U.S. Naval veteran serving as a Russian interpreter on a minesweeper in the Philippines during World War II.
Survived by his daughters, Dorine Del Po (Paul) of Naugatuck, and Joann Schaeffer of Shelton, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by his sons, Andrew and James Dzwonchyk, his brothers, Stephen and Joseph Dzwonchyk, and his sister, Julia Schaeffer.
Services: Thursday, May 12, 10:30 a.m., St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby.
