Two injured in Route 8 motorcycle crash

Two people are seriously injured following a Route 8 crash near exit 11 in Shelton Sunday.

State Police have reported that Faton Osman, 27, of Wolcott lost control of his motorcycle while changing from the right to the left lane at a high rate of speed just past exit 11 on Route 8 South at around 5:30 p.m.

Osman and passenger Ann Laconte, 28, of Stratford, were “ejected” off of the motorcycle into the median, according to State Police.

Both sustained serious injuries and remain in critical condition, State Police said. Osman was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Laconte was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for their injuries. The extent of their injuries was not released and their families were contacted.

No law enforcement action has been taken.

Police are asking any witnesses to call the Troop I barracks in Bethany at 203-393-4200 and ask to speak to Trooper Ryan Burke as the crash remains under investigation.
