A pedestrian was struck in a hit and run accident in Stratford Thursday night.

Hearst CT Media reports that a A 35-year-old Beacon Falls man was killed after his car went off Route 8 and struck a tree early Friday morning.

Tonight marks the start of road work and lane shifts on One of southwestern Connecticut’s busiest highways due to a major bridge project in Bridgeport.

A woman who was arrested in connection with the abduction of another woman in Meriden last month will be in court on Friday to be arraigned.

A Stamford teen was arrested for nearly a quarter pound of marijuana found following a head on collision on Stephen Mather Road on May 16. Officers responded to Stephen Mather Road at 4:30 p.m. and spoke to one of the drivers, an 18-year-old Stamford woman.

A delivery of pink roses led to the arrest of a Stratford man in Trumbull June 1.

Beginning next Monday, June 13, parts of both Poverty Hollow Road and Route 53 will be closed to traffic until August.
