Videos of a Darien police stop have garnered more than 50,000 views following accusations of racial profiling by Darien officers. Bridgeport resident Matthew McGee, a black man, posted three videos to Youtube on July 17 showing Darien police following and stopping him as he rode his bicycle along Searles Road.
A panel was convened by U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4th) to explore race relations amid tension across the country, and in Darien after a viral video of police questioning a black bicyclist. The panel considered three questions.
