Local insurance agency BRBG (Broad Range Benefits Group) has formed a partnership with local nonprofit Bridgeport Rescue Mission to provide a collection site for in-kind donations such as nonperishable food and clothing.
Community members are now able to bring their donations for Bridgeport Rescue Mission to BRBG’s office at 2929 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Volunteers from the company will regularly deliver the goods to Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s donation center on Connecticut Avenue.
BRBG Owner Alex Horton says the company is excited to begin this new venture, which will provide a convenience for the community and result in more donations for the Mission. “We’re very much looking forward to getting more involved in our community,” he said. “The amount of poverty in Bridgeport is astounding, and as a community, we need to do something about it. The work the Mission does is truly inspiring and we’re hoping our partnership will bring in even more donations to support their vital programs, and allow BRBG to give back to this community.”
Bridgeport Rescue Mission is in need of nonperishable food items, new and used clothing in good condition, and personal hygiene products, which can be dropped off at the BRBG donation site at 2929 Fairfield Avenue or at the Mission’s donation center located at 1069 Connecticut Ave., Unit 2B, in Bridgeport. The Mission also accept financial donations on their website, BridgeportRescueMission.org.
