Hundreds of grieving family members, coworkers, and peers gathered to celebrate the life of former police dispatcher Laura Price on Aug. 17 at the Riverview Funeral home in Shelton.

Tears fell as family and friends made jokes and shared personal memories they had with Price.

A large number of EMS and first responders, particularly from Shelton and Stratford were in attendance and all spoke of Price’s passion for helping people.

Pine Rock Fire Dept. Captain Justin Sabatino said he had known Price since she was eight years old and recalls her practically growing up in the firehouse. He went on to describe Price as one of the most caring people he knew and described how dedicated she was to her second family at the firehouse, always asking to make sure each member’s family was all right.

Price’s husband William expressed his gratitude for the amount of support people offered by showing up and said his wife would want people to continue to live their lives as she continues to live on in their hearts.

Michael Paoletto, Stratford’s EMS Honor Guard commander, conducted a special ceremony in which Price was honored with a flag that was folded in four ways to represent police, fire, EMS and communications.

Price is survived by her husband of eight years William Price, her father and mother Richard A. Fee, Jr. and Sandra L. Carlson Fee, her brother Ron Fee and his wife Audrey. She is the mother of Ethan Price, and Joseph Price, caring stepmother of Samantha Vizzo and her husband Brian, and Rebecca Lukaszewski. She is the cherished stepgrandmother of Connor Vizzo, Saleen Vizzo, and Arabella Lukaszewski.

T-shirts are on sale to commemorate Price and donations can be made to put towards her 9-year-old son Ethan. Contributions can be made at https://www.booster.com/laura-price?type=zoom&side=front or http://www.pinerockfd.com/2015/index.php/8-news/18-donate-to-the-laura-price-memorial-fund
