Shelton Fire crews from White Hill Voluntary Fire Company # 5 rescued a Macan Bird from a tree on Aug. 8, 2016

On Aug. 15 at 5:14 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #23 Perch Road for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. A dead battery caused the alarm. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 16 at 9:40 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of smoke in the area of walnut Tree Hill Road and Surren Lane. Firefighters found a homeowner burning brush without a permit. The fire was extinguished by the occupant. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 16 at 6:21 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Housatonic River to assist a boater with a disabled boat on the water. Firefighters towed the boat to shore. One marine unit responded.

On Aug. 16 at 8:43 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1, Pine Rock Co. #4 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #227 Howe Avenue for a report of a natural gas leak in an apartment. Firefighters arrived and found no gas leak but a hot water heater that had burst. One engine, two ladder trucks and one utility truck responded.

On Aug. 16 at 9:42 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to assist the Trumbull Fire Department at natural gas leak in the road in the area of #465 Shelton Road in Trumbull. One engine and one rehab unit responded.

On Aug. 17 at 00:42 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #132 Myrtle Street for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. One engine responded.

On Aug. 17 at 6:12 am the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #458 Fisher Court for a fire alarm sounding. A dead battery in a carbon monoxide detector caused the alarm. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 17 at 10:07 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #7 Acadia Lane. There was no fire. The alarm was transmitted during a test of the system. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 17 at 3:37 the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Victorian Condominiums at #384 Howe Avenue for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. A malfunction in the alarm system was the cause. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 17 at 8:50 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #100 Commerce Drive for an automatic fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. A broken water pipe caused the alarm. Two engines, one utility truck and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 18 at 9:20 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. # 4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #4 Corporate Drive. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 12:05 pm the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 responded to #36 Soundview Avenue for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 4:50 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #388 Long Hill Avenue to check the home after a fire that had previously occurred. Firefighters arrived and found a fire had been extinguished in a kitchen that happened the day before. The fire was in put out by an occupant of the home. It was started when cooking oil ignited on a stove top. The fire damaged nearby cabinets and caused smoke damage in the home. The occupant also sustained burns and was treated at a hospital. One ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 9:21 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a report of a brush fire at #3 Peter’s lane. Firefighters found tree stumps being burned out on property. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 19 at 9:56 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #4211 Avalon Drive for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 19 at 02:41 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #85 Mill Street to assist EMS with a patient. One utility truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 11:36 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #75 Maple Lane for an automatic fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 3:03 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #571 Howe Avenue for a person locked in a second floor apartment. Firefighters arrived and found that the door handle to the apartment broke which made it unusable and unable to open the door. Firefighters were able to open the door from the opposite side. One rescue truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 7 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1, Pine Rock Co. #4 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Bank of America #1 Trap Falls Road. There was no fire. Two engines, one rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 19 at 8:27 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #131 Long Hill Cross Road. There was no fire. Duct from sanding caused the alarm to sound. One rescue truck and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 20 at 8:22 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. 35 responded to the Bank of America #1 Trap Falls Road for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. One engine responded.

On Aug. 20 at 10:25 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Hubbell Building #40 Waterview Drive. There was no fire. Two engines, and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 20 at 2:45 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a dumpster fire in the rear of Curtiss Ryan Honda at #333 Bridgeport Avenue. Two engines responded.

On Aug. 20 at 4:10 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Shelton Dog park #317 Nells Rock Road to assist EMS with removing a person who injured themselves in the walking trails. One rescue truck, and one utility truck with an all-terrain vehicle responded.

On Aug. 20 at 4:18 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Elizabeth Shelton School for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 21 at 6:30 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the railroad trestle off Canal Street to extinguish a railroad tie that was on fire. One engine responded.

On Aug. 21 at 8:15 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #180 Nichols Avenue for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. Firefighters found there were no levels in the home. A faulty detector caused the alarm. One engine and one rescue truck responded.

On Aug. 21 at 10:21 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Hubbell Building at #40 Waterview Drive for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. One engine responded and one ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 21 at 7:49 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #26 Perch Road to assist the homeowner retrieving a Macan bird from a tree. Firefighters arrived and removed the bird from the tree safely. One ladder truck responded.

On Aug. 21 at  the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to A fire alarm sounding at Danny O’s Restaurant #458 River Road. There was no fire. One engine responded, and one ladder truck responded.
