Save the Children tees up benefit Sept. 27

The Patterson Club in Fairfield will host the inaugural Save the Children Golf Classic on Sept. 27.

Presented by global apparel company PVH Corp., the outing will benefit Fairfield-based Save the Children’s programs, which give children in the United States and around the world a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.

The day kicks off with registration and a buffet brunch at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Participants will play 18 holes at The Patterson Club, 1118 Cross Highway, set in the rolling landscape of Fairfield’s Greenfield Hill section.

Included in the day’s festivities will be opportunities to interact and learn from PGA pros Carlos Franco and Rob Labritz. There will also be course contests, a silent auction, a reception and more, and participants will be able to learn more about Save the Children and how it invests in childhood every day.

“While aiming for the pin on the course, golfers can also give kids a shot at changing the course of their futures,” said Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children. “Save the Children is tremendously grateful to presenting sponsor PVH — the parent company of well-known brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and IZOD — and all of the participants for making our first Golf Classic a reality. Local events like this, right here in our hometown, can go a long way in helping Save the Children continue to achieve lasting impact for millions of the world’s most vulnerable girls and boys.”

PVH Corp. Chairman and CEO Emanuel Chirico said, “Save the Children is an incredible organization and has been a fantastic partner of ours for nearly a decade. Today’s children will be our future CEOs, employees and customers, and we believe supporting an organization like Save the Children allows us to help create lasting changes in the lives of children in need.”
