Fall offerings get underway this weekend at Center Stage with “Mark Lanzieri and Friends,” a cabaret. Lanzieri, known by some in the Lower Naugatuck Valley as the “Hotdog Man” because of food cart outside of the Derby Court House. The theatre will feature performances at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23 and 24. Tickets are $15 and seating is cabaret style. Patrons may bring their own refreshments to the event.
“Mark Lanzieri is a song stylist in the tradition of Frank Sinatra,” said Center Stage Artistic Director Gary Scarpa. “And he surrounds himself with extremely talented musicians. It will be a night of great music, and patrons are encouraged to dance as well.”
Also coming up at Center Stage is “The Taste of Sunrise,” a family play which tells the story of a deaf boy and which opens on Oct. 7 and also the theatre’s annual Teen Musical Theatre Workshop, which opens on Nov. 4.
Center Stage will also hold auditions for “A Christmas Carol” on Oct. 8. Adults, teens, and children in 3rd grade and older are eligible to audition.
“The Fall is a busy time at Center Stage, with a rich variety of offerings,” said Scarpa.
