Valley United Way canvasses community for campaign awareness

Valley United Way board members, staff and volunteers made their way through the community for a Valley-wide street canvas for campaign awareness on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17.

In an effort to build a stronger partnership with small business owners in each of the Valley towns, volunteers went door-to- door in downtown areas and populated business communities to speak with business owners about Valley United Way and how they can benefit from a partnership.

“We think this will be a great opportunity for us to meet the small business owners and put Valley United Way into the heart of each community once again,” said Jimmy Tickey, Valley United Way’s Campaign Chair. “We look forward to getting to meet the people who work so hard to make our downtowns vibrant and to see how we can partner together to continue fighting for a stronger community.”

Jimmy Tickey, Campaign Chair and Sara Aylward, Director of Resource Development, said the small business owners the staff interacted with were excited to join the Valley United Way community campaign, and collaborate with them as they work to strengthen the community.
