Spencer Gangi headed home Shelton’s opening goal in its 2-0 win over Branford. å

The Shelton High boys soccer team beat visiting Branford High, 2-0, on Wednesday night at Finn Stadium.

Spencer Gangi opened the scoring with a goal off of Kyle Gil’s corner in the 34th minute.

Khaleed Dawkins, assisted by Sean Beacham, added an insurance goal in the second half.

The Gaels outshot Branford 24-1.

Kadir Sahin had 10 saves for the Hornets. Kyle Prindle had the clean sheet for Shelton.
