Boys soccer: Shelton hands Cheshire first loss

The Shelton High boys soccer team defeated Cheshire High at Finn Stadium, 3-1, on Friday night in an SCC matchup.

Nicola Lobello headed in the opening goal for the Gaels, off of an an ssist from Isaijah Robles in the 28th minute.

Tyler Carvalho, assisted by Kyle Gil, and Robles, assisted by Alex DeMoura, netted second-half markers.

Andre Pereira scored Cheshire’s goal with 22 seconds left.

Gael keeper Kyle Prindle made four saves, while Cheshire keeper Jared Chase had four saves.

Shelton improved to 7-2-1, while Cheshire fell to 5-1-3.
