Business group endorses Perillo

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association has endorsed Jason Perillo for the state House of Representatives, representing the 113th district.

“This upcoming legislative session will be one of the most critical we’ve faced as our economy continues to recover slowly, lagging behind the region and the country,” said CBIA president and CEO Joe Brennan.

“We must elect candidates who understand the urgency facing our state, and will make the decisions necessary to grow the economy, create jobs, and help Connecticut reach its full potential.

“Because of that, we’re pleased to endorse Jason Perillo as he will continue to work on strengthening Connecticut’s economy.

“It’s essential to elect legislators who will make the tough decisions necessary to improve the economy, grow jobs, and make Connecticut a better pace to do business, and we’re confident Jason will do that.”

“I am proud that CBIA is supporting me in this election. I’ve worked hard to fight the Malloy agenda and bring jobs back to Connecticut,” Perillo said.

“To help businesses we must first design a balanced state budget that includes no new spending as well as appropriate tax cuts.”

“Second, we must strive to phase out the income tax on middle-wage earners by 2020. Connecticut small businesses employ half the state’s private workforce. Many of those businesses are family-owned, where owners sweat alongside their employees every day.  By focusing our tax relief on those middle class workers, we take pressure off wages and prices—a boost for the Connecticut economy.”

“Third, (and more locally) we need to continue to revitalize Downtown Shelton. We do that by clearing the path for local property-owners and stepping in when it is appropriate for government to do so.”

Perillo, who lives in Shelton, is seeking re-election in the 113th District, which includes the City of Shelton. This is not Perillo’s first economy-based endorsement. He has also been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business, which represents small business owners throughout the nation as well as the Connecticut Realtors Association.
