Girls volleyball: Shelton pushes win streak to seven

The Shelton High girls volleyball team extended its win streak to seven games, defeating Amity, 3-1, and Guilford, 3-0.

In the 21-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-20 win over the previously-unbeaten Spartans, Mackenzie Bures led the way with 11 digs, 14 kills and two blocks.

Samantha Stevens added seven digs, 12 kills and two aces; Grace Tokarski 25 assists and 12 digs, Casey O’Connor eight kills and four blocks, Jess Orazetti 10 digs and one ace and Amity Haluschak 11 digs, one ace and one assist.

On Monday, the Gaelettes posted a 25-20, 25-16, 25-16 sweep over Guilford.

Bures had one ace, 11 digs and 11 kills, Tokarski eight aces, five digs and 20 assists and Orazetti two aces and nine digs.

Shelton (14-5) travels to Fraser Gymnasium to face Foran High (10-8) on Wednesday in the regular-season finale.
