Girls soccer: Shelton loses to Cheshire Rams, 5-3

The Shelton High girls soccer team dropped a 5-3 decision to host Cheshire High in an SCC quarterfinal match on Saturday night.

The No. 7 Gaelettes took a 2-1 lead at the half, before the third-seeded Rams put four shots in the net after intermission.

Kaleigh Panek had a three-goal hat trick for Shelton.

Cheshire received goals from two goals from Allison Leonetti and one apiece from Sarah Clark, Lila McNamee and Saige Bingman. Kaitlyn Loura had an assist.

Shelton’s Shelby Oxford had six saves.

Cheshire’s Zoe Riccio made two stops and Sam Matthews one.
