Girls volleyball: Shelton knocks out Law

The Shelton High girls volleyball team defeated Jonathan Law 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-11, 25-23) to advance to the semifinals of the SCC tournament.

For the third-seeded Gaelettes (17-5), Mackenzie Bures led the way with 22 kills, 19 digs and two blocks.

Samantha Stevens added 16 kills, 17 digs and one ace and Grace Tokarski notched 45 assists, 13 digs and one kill.

Stephanie Felag led the sixth-seeded Eagles (15-7) with 25 digs, six kills and two blocks. Cassidy Boath notched 13 digs and Colleen Goodwin added eight kills and two blocks.

Shelton will travel to Cheshire to face the second-seeded Rams on Thursday at 6.
