My Fair Lady auditions Dec. 10

Center Stage Theatre director Gary Scarpa has announced the theatre will hold auditions for the musical, My Fair Lady, on Saturday, Dec. 10 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Scarpa said they’re seeking adult and teen actors with the possibility of children actors in fifth grade or older.

My Fair Lady is the story of a lowly Cockney flower girl as she transforms into a sophisticated lady, with the help of a linguistics teacher who gets bit by more than he bargained for. Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play, Pygmalion, this musical for the whole family boasts a score of Broadway songs, including “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” and “On the Street Where You Live”.

“With an immortal score by Lerner and Leowe, My Fair Lady is considered one of the greatest musical comedies ever written by many in the field of theatre, ” said Scarpa. “We are really excited about bringing it to life on our stage.”
