Gaelettes fall short of SCC upset

Shelton High dropped a 55-49 SCC girls basketball decision to visiting Sacred Heart Academy of Hamden on Wednesday.
Megan Burke scored 22 points for the Gaelettes (6-10) who went on a 19-10 run in the second quarter to take a 25-22 lead into the half.
SHA (11-6) won the next two periods, 12-7 and 21-17.
Alyssa Eanntti scored 11 points, Nicole Roberts five and Nicole Wells four for Shelton.

The Gaelettes will play host to Cheshire High today at 5:30 with the boys team taking on the Rams at 7:30.
