Thursday is already the second matchup featuring top five CCC teams in the GameTimeCT boys basketball poll.
Fourth-ranked Northwest Catholic makes the quick trip up I-84 East to square off at third-ranked Windsor at 6:45 p.m. Previously, No. 1 Bristol Central beat No. 3 East Catholic 74-59 at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Dec. 20.
Northwest Catholic already has a loss — to Wilbur Cross 72-68 in “The 6” GHPA Spirit of Doc Classic Dec. 18 — but has rebounded with three consecutive victories. Windsor has won its first four games.
The two had one of the better regular-season contests in last year’s COVID-19-shortened season — 78-74 NWC behind Matt Curtis’ 35 points. Northwest Catholic came into that matchup ranked third, Windsor 2nd.
Curtis has committed to play at Fairfield University next season.
Both teams eventually lost to Bristol Central in the CCC top-bracket tournament last March.
