With sunny skies and temperatures rising into the upper 50s, it’s a nice day to get out and enjoy the weather.

But because of social distancing rules and parking lots full to capacity, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has closed the following state parks and forests to more visitors on Sunday:

Paugussett State Forest, Newtown

Squantz Pond State Park, New Fairfield

George Waldo State Park, Southbury

Southford Falls State Park, Southbury

Sleeping Giant State Park, Hamden

Black Rock State Park, Watertown

Penwood State Park, Bloomfield

C.P. Huntington State Park, Newtown, Bethel and Redding.
