Three suspected drug dealers were arrested this week after authorities raided two homes where they discovered drugs, cash and weapons, according to Laredo police.

On Wednesday, the LPD narcotics and vice unit, assisted by the patrol division, executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of East Price Street. Authorities said they had received anonymous information about narcotics being sold at the residence. After an investigation, police said that narcotics activity was evident.

Police raided the home and detained a man and a woman after entering the home. A search of the male yielded six wrappings of a white powdery substance along with money.

A search of the master bedroom yielded $7,099 inside the closet, according to police. Authorities also discovered three weapons inside that same closet: A 9mm Taurus handgun, a black shotgun and an AK Micro Pistol.

Officers also found a black backpack containing 175 Alprozolam Pills (Xanax-134 grams) and four Viagra 100 mg pills (2.2 grams). Officers also located 52 clear wrappings containing white powdery substance, according to police.

Officers also found 16.1 ounces of marijuana. The total weight of the white powdery substance was 21.1 grams.

Authorities identified the suspects as Jaime Jesus Esquivel, 33, and Maria Rodriguez, 39. Each was charged with two counts of manufacture, delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana.

Second raid

On Thursday, authorities raided another home in the 600 block of East Ash Street. LPD executed the search warrant after they observed individuals participating in behaviors and activities commonly utilized by those involved in narcotics activities.

Officers detained a man upon raiding the home. He was identified as Rodolfo Diaz Jr., 60. Officers then discovered three Ziplock bags with 0.70 ounces of marijuana. Further inspection rendered two additional clear wraps with 0.07 ounces of marijuana.

A search of the kitchen revealed a small container with 0.12 ounces of marijuana. Diaz allegedly admitted to owning the marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
