Alternatives to summer blockbusters, Golden Eagle benefit concert, more
HAN Arts & Leisure with Sally Sanders, Steve Coulter and the “Reel Dad,” Mark Schumann, take a look at movies, the arts and other events going on in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York — and the surrounding area. Watch this week’s episode below:
The Reel Dad gives us alternatives to the normal blockbuster season and Steve and Mark discuss Cannes.
Mark is excited for a sequel to a movie that was panned by most critics.
Later, Steve and Mark talk about what’s coming up on television and on-demand.
Steve and Mark highlight ‘All the Way,' an HBO movie, featuring Bryan Cranston as Lyndon B. Johnson and Anthony Mackie as Martin Luther King Jr.
Later in the show, Kelly Targowski, who is head of marketing for Trumbull High School’s Golden Eagle Marching Band, joins Steve to talk about a weekend benefit concert this Saturday, May 21. The Trumbull High jazz band opens and a UCONN-based brass band, Funky Dogs, will perform, followed by rock band Forget Paris. The Golden Eagle Marching Band is raising money for their trips to the Fiesta Bowl on December 31, 2016 and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2017.
The marching band was recently surprised with the news they will march in the Macy’s parade and, a few days later, learned they were also chosen to participate in the Fiesta Bowl.
