SHELTON — Plans are in the works to add more apartments along Howe Avenue.

Vista Apartments LLC has proposed constructing a three-story, 28-unit apartment building at 1039 Howe Ave. This is the second phase of the developers’ plans. The first part was completed years ago on adjacent property listed as 11 Leavenworth Road.

The latest plans have been filed with the Planning and Zoning Commission, and a public hearing will soon be set for the application.

Vista Apartments LLC is requesting approval of a special exception in a CA-3 zone for the development, which would include 57 parking spaces and 28 units on the 1.93-acre lot.

The project, if approved, would use the same entrance granted and built on Howe Avenue as part of P.

“The application conforms to the comprehensive plan of development, has adequate capacity for traffic on Howe Avenue and does not negatively impact property values in the area,” according to the developers’ statement of use included in the application.

The present building, constructed in 2014, is three stories with 14 apartment units and 35 parking spaces.
