A motorist heading north on Route 8 through the Valley spun out and the vehicle being driven hit a guardrail. The accident occurred at slightly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21. (Photos by Brad Durrell)

The incident took place in the vicinity of exits 18 and 19 in Ansonia, when it was snowing out. A considerable amount of snow had fallen on Friday night, so road conditions were not good at the time.

A female could be seen standing on the side off the highway, near the damaged vehicle, and it appeared no one was hurt in the crash.

The vehicle smashed into the guardrail on the right side of the highway, and cars were passing the accident scene at a slow rate of speed in the left lane.

Some car parts could be seen in the highway, such as a section of the bumper, having come off the vehicle due to the impact. A pickup truck had pulled over to offer assistance.

A State Police report on the incident has not been released yet. More information on the accident should be available when the police report is released.
